About Camps

Shotokan Karate is a safe, fun and appropriate martial art for children of all ages and fitness levels. Campers increase flexibility and balance, improve coordination, and improve muscle tone. Shotokan is a non-contact form of Karate that teaches participants how to concentrate and develops self esteem. This camp is appropriate for new beginners to the martial arts. No uniforms or equipment necessary.

Our Chess Camp teaches children the basics of this popular board game. They learn the moves and develop strategies for beginning, middle and end game appropriate for novice to experienced player.

Children who have never practiced Yoga before will love our camp, as will experienced Yoga youth. We explore the many Yoga asana's named after animals and learn the benefits that can be gained by simple yoga practice. Music and some games are incorporated into each Yoga class, making it a very popular camp activity. We provide yoga mats, but if your child has their own, please bring it along.

Our Art teachers are professionals who enjoy working with children and celebrate their creativity. Some of the art projects include mask making, drawing, painting, book making and photography. Each camp offers a wide variety and campers have ample time to complete their projects so they have "art" to take home.

"Imagine That" is a fun Theater half-day camp with story teller, actress, and teacher Rhonda Lund. This camp is not about performing so much as it is about creating -- kids love it because it sparks the imagination without the stress of having to perform in front on an audience. "Imagine That" is an excellent movement oriented camp for all ages and personalities.
